Castro Valley Chapter: Members Make Dinner. . .and Plates!
Susan Negrin, Chapter Leader of the Castro Valley, California Chapter writes about how her chapter members make their potluck dinners unique:
In December, our Castro Valley chapter in California had our meeting at Aran’s Art Studio (a woman-owned business in our community). We gathered for our meeting to learn about the BOMA Fund, and at the same time, painted ceramic plates, with the intent to use them at our chapter potluck meetings, in an effort to be environmentally conscious and reduce the use of recyclables. This month, we had our finished plates with us at our January meeting to enjoy our Indian cuisine inspired by Matrichaya. This has really caught on, and we are now considering going back to paint ceramic dessert plates!
